Ideas for new groups

Have any great ideas for new groups? carry on reading to see what the latest ideas are:

Here are two new ideas which Wendy Reece is trying to get up and running.

Please respond to Wendy if you are interested in either.

The 'Ambling' Group'.

An introductory meeting for the new group to discuss the how, when, and where.

This group is aimed at members who love the outdoors and like to enjoy a slower pace than the main walking group.

There is a proposal for the walks to be on flat grounds with seating available when needed as not all of us are able to walk 100's of yards without a break.

If you are interested and have knowledge of such walks like Stowe pool, Chasewater, Wolseley Nature Reserve or undercover walks for when it's raining, please let me know.

It would be good for people who don't have transport to come.  We could setup a car share from the beginning if people were willing.

The date for the initial 'Ambling Group' meeting will be Tuesday 16th April 10:30 the venue will depend on the response.

Initially I'm thinking Tuesday or Wednesday morning starting about 10:30 The where, will depend on how many members respond.

Art History Talks

Do you enjoy art?  Would you be interested in a monthly one hour illustrated talk finding out more about artists and art movements? Often the key to understanding art is to understand the context in which it is made.

Each talk puts into context the social, economic, and cultural influences of the time in which the artwork is produced.

These talks are for anyone interested in art whether you have a great deal of previous knowledge or very little and would like to know more.

The talks will cover a diverse range of artists and art movements for example JMW Turner, The Dutch Golden Age, Gustav Klimt, Cezanne, Stanley Spencer etc.,

The above information has been sent by Zena Thewlis.

She runs a course at Stafford u3a and contributes to Leeds u3a too.

The course would run once a month with the use of Screen and projector.  The day choices are Monday afternoon or any time Thursday.

If you are interested, please contact Wendy Reece via the link below and she will help set it up.
