The group meets, by kind permission of Peter and Hazel Kingsley, at their home. The meeting takes place on the second Friday of each month. We are a friendly group, but numbers are now limited so if you wish to attend, please contact Andrew via the group email link before coming along, or you might not get a chair.
We are currently reading “A Little History of Philosophy” by Nigel Warburton, which is , as it says, an introduction and explanation of the main strands of philosophy. It is very easily followed and generates good discussion.
Despite the fact that none of us knew anything about Philosophy before coming to the Group we take it in turns to present new topics with new members getting as much help as is needed by the older members. You get a terrific feeling when after a few months you can actually explain to others what it is all about.
We get to ask questions and have a general discussion about the subject for half the meeting.
